Scooby Scoob is here and ready to tell you all about himself!
Scooby is an 11-month-old Boxer mix who came into our care from a local shelter. He was struggling in the shelter environment and showing what appeared to be barrier reactivity, which made it difficult for the shelter to place him safely. Because of this, Scooby wasn’t eligible for adoption and was at real risk of euthanasia, until one of our experienced foster homes stepped in just in time.
Scooby is good with dogs and is still learning how to be a puppy. When he arrived, he had some separation anxiety and would panic when a barrier was placed between him and his people, even a baby gate was enough to trigger his anxiety. His foster parents have been working hard to help him build confidence and independence, and he’s made significant progress. He’ll still need continued guidance and boundaries, but he now has a wonderful foundation thanks to his foster family.
Scooby is also a great city dog, he’s a star on public transit and is very environmentally confident!
Scooby will be looking for an experienced family who is ready to do training with him as he continues to develop and grow. He has also been introduced to e-collar training in foster care, and it has been a helpful tool for him. Scooby’s ideal home will support him in building independence and teaching him that he doesn’t always need to be glued to his humans (even though he loves them very much!).
