Fostering is one of the most rewarding ways to help a rescue organization! You get to watch a pup grow from potentially confused and unsettled to a wonderfully confident companion with the proper direction!
As a completely foster based rescue, we do not have a physical building or home to keep all our dogs until they get adopted. Which is why we rely on our wonderful Foster Families to welcome a dog into their home while in our care and support them until they get adopted. Our Foster Families give our dogs the best temporary home while in our care, providing them with a loving and enriching environment, which includes daily training, exercise, and of course plenty of snuggles.
What are you provided with as a Foster Family?
Supplies
Tango's Lead will provide you with everything you need to care for a dog in your home. This includes things like food, dog bed, crate, leashes, bowls, and likely plenty of treats and toys too!
Vetting care
Tango's Lead ensures all dogs receive vetting care from our approved veterinarians. You may be asked to take your foster dog to the veterinarian on occasion.
Training Support & Resources
We will provide you with daily support, training resources and will help you mold your foster pup into the best pup that they can be while searching for their forever family.

What do we ask of our Foster Families?
Help us save a life
We can only bring in new dogs to the rescue if we have Foster Homes for them to go to until they get adopted. We are always looking for Foster homes ready to provide dogs with a safe space to land, willing to work on basic training with our support, and give their foster dogs plenty of love!
Transportation
We hope our Foster Families can help by transporting their foster dog to events where they could meet potential adopters, to training sessions, or to vetting appointments while in their care. Our events, trainers, and approved veterinarians are largely in the Guelph and surrounding region.
Take plenty of photos & videos!
We need our Foster Families' help showcasing their dog's personality for potential adopters. We ask Foster Families to send the Tango Team plenty of photos and videos of their foster dog!
