Ophelia: Text

Meet our sweet 3 year old Bully Mix, Ophelia! Ophelia was transferred to us from a Quebec Kill Shelter where she was struggling to find rescue due to bilateral cruciate tears. Currently, Ophelia is recovering in her foster home from her first TPLO surgery and will undergo her second surgery this summer. Ophelia is good with dogs, cats and strangers and is crate and house trained.

Ophelia is working hard on her leash training but is fairly good and only pulls when she is overly excited. She knows sit, paw, bed, crate and leave it but is working on understanding her size as well as being calm before exiting her crate. Ophelia does very well at the vet! She is the same brave, curious lady wanting to greet everyone while waiting for appointments. Ophelia loves to give kisses and will give kisses to anyone, whether they ask for them or not!

She always wants to cuddle up next to her foster mom when she is not trying to explore the house or play with the cats. She loves a good squeaky toy to play with while having a snuggle. She is not very vocal unless she needs to go outside, or when she thinks she has been in her crate without attention for too long. She sees her crate as a comfort spot and is very happy to spend some down time in her crate.

What Ophelia’s foster mom would like you to know about them:

Ophelia is such a sweet, happy girl who stole my heart within the first few hours of having her in my home. You’d think for such a young, high energy dog, strict cage rest during her recovery would be a nightmare. But this little lady has proven time and again how well behaved she is and that she is able to keep herself entertained while resting. She has such a large, goofy personality that she has no problem showing at any moment - during our short walks or while having supervised enrichment time. And while she has tons of energy to burn, she also is ready for an afternoon of cuddles and naps. I am so excited to get to be a part of her second chance in life and am happy to spoil her until she finds her forever home!

**PLEASE NOTE: Ophelia is currently on bed rest as she recovers from her surgeries. Once she has recovered, she will live a very happy and normal life, but for now, her life is about relaxing and soaking up attention from her foster mom
