General is a high energy boy ready for his forever home! He still has a lot of puppy in him, so he is looking for a home that will give him lots of mental and physical stimulation, and one that will not let him push boundaries. Gen is a super quick learner and loves his training sessions, these help tire him out and can be used to pull his attention back to his person. He is pretty well behaved on walks; doesn't react to anything and not much of a puller, but can get a little hyper-focused on some things so needs reminders to focus on his peron. Gen is also super food motivated so this comes in handy with training. General's favourite games are fetch and tug-of-war, and is pretty happy to do anything as long as it's with his person!

General was initially transferred to us from another shelter in February 2021, and we were told he had resource guarding and stranger danger. After a few months in foster care not seeing any signs of this, he was adopted out to a family for just under a year. Unfortunately his adopters bit off a bit more than he could chew and General started showing some of these behaviours, which ultimately wasn't something they could manage. We're happy to report that with proper introductions General has shown none of these behaviours since being back with us! While General is able to be trusted in the home, he is also content in the crate. He may whine for the first little bit but will settle quickly.

Here's what General's foster mom has to say about him: 

General is super affectionate and loyal, and will happily cuddle up in your lap like he doesn't weigh 110 lbs! He loves attention, and is always happy to play with you (whether you want to or not). He does require a lot of structure, but I promise if he does get the training and stimulation he needs, he will be a fantastic dog. General is currently overweight so is on a diet and exercise routine to get him back to his energetic self!
